Smartphone speaker
It wake's you up in the morning , play's you're favorite music ,able to project the voice of your friend and loved one . smartphone speaker does this being in small size
We going to look how this speaker work??
Most of the smartphone have two speaker
Top of the speaker used for phone conversation and bottom speaker used to play music ..you can see the weight it is very less... bottom and top speakers have same component's and similar functions
In smartphone speaker there are 4 key components
a diaphragm voice coil, a magnet and spider, some additional components plastic case and front cover... provide uniformity for the magnetic field and structural support and protection..
Let's focus on 4 key components
Diaphragm
The first key Component is diaphragm it is a thin piece of rigid plastic that moves back and forward to generate sound waves
The diaphragm moves forward and compressed the air particles generating a high pressure waves and then moves backward generate low pressure waves.. this diaphragm can do this thousands of times in a second these wave's then propagate out from the speaker and when this oscillation of high pressure and low pressure waves hits our ears, it is received as sound
Thus diaphragm create these waves by moving back and forward... controlling of this moment we have second component voice coil
The voice coil is firmly mounted to the diaphragm and it is constructed from the coil of insulated copper wire the diaphragm and coil are positioned around the third component the magnet.
Magnet
In smart phone this magnet is made up of neodymium which has a strong permanent magnetic field.. when current is applied the magnetic field in the coil is generated or induced the interaction between the coils..
Temporary magnetic field and neodymium permanent magnetic field caused the coil.. and the diaphragm to move when amount of current running through the coil changes it also change shape of coils temporary magnetic field
This in turn Changes the position of the coil and diaphragm when wave form of current like this...
Run through the coil the diaphragm will move accordingly and the pressure waves genarated by the diaphragm will result in corresponding sound waves ....
Spider
Spider this is thin piece of flexible plastic layer used to stable the diaphragm and prevents it in the voice coil from moving side to side....
Summary..
Diaphragm pushes on the air in order to Generate sound waves..
This diaphragm is mounted to the voice coil and it stabilized in the center by spider ..this voice coil and magnet operates to drive the diaphragm working together these four components generate an impressive variety of sounds from our smartphone
