Engineers, businessman's, scientists they invent or innovate new things. what if those inventions copied by other's here the scientists or engineers put lot of effort to find new things .those effect and time stoling by other by copying their idea. so in order to prevent this issue government created patent right .if any one copies other's project ,then they can go for legal action against them, so they must need to file patent. This legal right issued by the government of India to protect original innovators.
China country have most of patents and after USA.
There are three types of patents.
1.design patent
2.plant patent
3.utility patent
1)design patent.
If you make a new design like ornamental design of jewelry, furniture, beverage container's and computer icons..etc these comes under the design patent.
2)plant patent.
A new kind of plant which capable of production .a plant patent is granted to an inventor who has a distinct and new variety of plant other than a tuber propagated plat or a plant that found in an uncultivated state.
3) utility patent.
If you discovered article of manufacturing , useful product  ,a machine ..etc you can make changes which existed one. then you can apply for utility patent .
One country patent do not valid in other countries .if you discover or invent which existed in any countries then you can apply for patent which can valid all over the world.

• According to the Section 3 and 4 of the patent act,1970.
• the below cannot be patented
• ideas, process or methods .
• scientific principles /formulation.
• method of agriculture/articulture.
• dramatic music's or artistic works.

• 1) file preparation.
You have to make a complete discerption of your project , invention, idea. And you have to write a detailed explanation about your project statures, formulation, advantages, disadvantages and so on.
The most important thing is that your project should not to be match with other projects, inventions..
• 2)draft application
For this you have  go to patent office then they will give two applications.
a) provisional application
  If project not completed, if it is the stage of developing then you need provisional application they will give some time period (12 months) to complete your project ,if you complete  your project in given time period then it is secured.
•  b) complete specification.
  For this you have to complete your project , invention. then you can apply for complete specification .after they will examine your project ,product, invention. after examination your project is ready to be published (in some time period).
•  c) examination request.
  Here you requesting for your project, innovative examination for this your project need to be original , innovative , unique..etc if  your project have any objections then you have to clear with a time period .after all these ,you get a patent .
  The most important note is the patent get expired after 20 years (if that project haven't published ).so any one make copy that project and they can apply for patent.
